A Leisurely Walk...

We took a walk in the snow today. Monty is not the most agile kid in his snowsuit, but he can get around better than that kid in A Christmas Story.

The Simple Joy of a Plastic Hamburger

Monty got a case of the giggles from watching Grampa's kitten chase a plastic hamburger around. Brooke can be heard trying to catch her breath in the background from laughing at Monty.

We took a tour of Wisco for the long weekend.

First, we headed to Dodgeville to have t-day with Grampa Tom and Aunt Brooke. Monty had a great time playing with Comet the cat (video to come).

Then, we headed to Grandpa and Grandma Hintz's house. Nicholas had a birthday party with Power Rangers, which pretty much freaked Monty out - can you blame him?

Monty also had his first walkabout in snow. He's not too sure about wearing snow boots.

We tested out an afro wig also, but it didn't seem to fit.

It has a dual positronic hemi engine, or something. And it has BLUE TIRES!

When Mom's Away...

This is a pretty long video of Monty's latest maneuvers. He's not walking, but he's about as close as you can get to walking without actually walking. He will only stand and takes a few steps by himself, but he'll walk behind his walker like an old man on crack.

Amanda was giving a speech for her Liver Foundation, so we were on our own. As you can see, I had everything under control. Or not.

Monty took his very first vacation last week. We went to Aunt Julie and Uncle Steve's cabin in northern Wisconsin.

We had a great time!

As you can see, Monty is ready to get tubin', but Devon just wants to lay around.

Here is a very nautical-looking Monty, hanging out with Aunt Brooke. We did a lot of boating around.

We lost Monty when he swam off to hide in the tall grass. We searched for hours, but then he began to snack. This tipped us off to his location.

Monty has been taking Ambien so he frequently sleepwalks to the kitchen and tries to get food. Not sure what he did with his diaper.

Here is the whole gang. Featured at center is AquaGramps! Monty's grandpa has the power over the sea, catching numerous giant fish - there is only one small hitch, he doesn't like getting wet.

Monty had a great 1st birthday. He got a dump truck, a dog, books, 3 or 4 trains (he loves trains) and a boatload of other stuff.

We made a trip to Wrigley yesterday morning when it was dead. We found my brick, and took some pics of Monty around the Friendly Confines.

Monty's nanny and Derek Lee's (kid's) nanny are sisters. We're practically related!

Who knew you could still be cool and wear sweatpants? He's got them jacked up pretty high there too. He could care less, he's standing and playing.

He's got several bumps on his head already... soon he'll be brain damaged like the rest of DeVoss family.

Monty is fully mobile. Crawls around the house, and is able to sit up. Recently he began his ascent to the standing position by getting on his knees. It won't be long now...

As most of you know, Monty had a rough couple days. He was in the hospital for a couple days because he was working hard to breath from a nasty cold.

I am happy to report we had a rambunctious bath tonight. He splashed and laughed like he was as good as new.

Today was a bee-you-tee-full day (said like Moose A. Moose for those other parents in the know).

It was really the first day nice enough to take Monty outside and let him play a bit. To make the day even better the Cubs won! At this point in the season that's actually a rare occurrence.

Grandma and Grandpa Hintz were in town, leaving behind several feet of snow up north.

Monty went to cheer on his momma in the Shamrock Shuffle. While we were waiting for her to finish, we stopped by the bean in the park.

As always, he digs looking at his reflection. "Hey, look how good I look!" he says. He's not being vain, just honest.

And as you can also see, Amanda doesn't mind stopping a run for a quick photo...

Monty had his first "Help Dad" afternoon today. I was replacing a light bulb and had to climb up a ladder. He just sat on the floor and watched. I can't wait until he can walk - I'll never lift a finger again.

Monty's New Favorite Toy

Aunt Brooke got Monty a toy that allows him to look in the mirror and sing songs, hit buttons to make music.... basically rock out.

He likes looking in the mirror a lot. I'm guessing that's because he's so devastatingly handsome. Doesn't he look like his dad? What do you mean "not really"?

Monty celebrated his sixth month on earth with a slight fever and crankiness. He had is 6 month shots yesterday, and they make him a little sick :(.

I'm not sure who's genes these are but he's now in the 95th percentile for height and 75th percentile for weight (28 inches, 16.6 lbs).

Well, I have some theories on where the weight comes from...
